SAT PREPARATION

1-to-1 Digital SAT Preparation in Malaysia

Prepare for the Digital SAT with personalized 1-to-1 SAT tuition at Education House. Our SAT preparation course covers both SAT Reading & Writing and SAT Math and is available through live online classes or in-person classes in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor.

Because every SAT student has a different academic background, target score, test date and area of weakness, the preparation is adjusted according to the individual student. Students can focus more class time on the topics and question types they need to improve rather than following the same fixed programme as everyone else.

Flexible intake and scheduling make the programme suitable for students preparing several months in advance as well as students who need more intensive SAT preparation before an upcoming test date.

FAQ ABOUT SAT

SAT preparation should not begin with the same programme for every student.

A student who is already strong in Math but struggles with Reading & Writing requires a different plan from a student who understands the syllabus but loses marks because of timing, unfamiliar question types or weak exam technique.

At Education House, the preparation can be adjusted according to:

  • the student’s current SAT level
  • previous SAT experience, if any
  • strengths and weaknesses
  • Reading & Writing performance
  • Math performance
  • target SAT score
  • university application goals
  • SAT test date
  • available weekly study time

The purpose is to use the available preparation time efficiently and focus more attention on the areas that can make the greatest difference to the student’s overall performance.

The Digital SAT Reading and Writing section assesses much more than basic English ability.

Students need to read short academic texts carefully, identify information quickly, understand vocabulary in context, analyse arguments and evidence, recognise relationships between ideas, and apply accurate grammar and punctuation.

Education House SAT Reading & Writing preparation can focus on the four main areas tested on the Digital SAT:

Information and Ideas

Students practise identifying main ideas and important details, making logical inferences, interpreting evidence and understanding information presented through texts, tables and graphs.

Craft and Structure

Students work on vocabulary in context, understanding the purpose and structure of a text, interpreting how an author uses language and comparing related texts.

Expression of Ideas

Students practise selecting logical transitions, organising information effectively and choosing wording that best achieves a particular writing purpose.

Standard English Conventions

Students strengthen the grammar, sentence structure, punctuation and usage skills needed to answer SAT editing questions accurately.

Preparation also focuses on recognising common SAT question patterns and answering efficiently under timed conditions.

The official Digital SAT Reading and Writing section contains 54 questions completed in 64 minutes across two modules.

The Digital SAT Math section tests students’ ability to understand mathematical concepts, apply them to unfamiliar situations and solve problems efficiently.

Education House SAT Math preparation can cover the four main areas of the current SAT Math syllabus:

Algebra

Including linear equations, linear functions, systems of equations and inequalities.

Advanced Math

Including nonlinear equations, quadratic and exponential relationships, polynomial expressions and other advanced algebraic concepts.

Problem-Solving and Data Analysis

Including ratios, percentages, rates, data interpretation, statistics and real-world quantitative problems.

Geometry and Trigonometry

Including angles, triangles, area, volume, circles and trigonometric relationships.

Students can spend more lesson time on weaker topics rather than reviewing material they have already mastered.

The Digital SAT Math section currently contains 44 questions completed in 70 minutes.

There is no single SAT score that every student needs.

A suitable target score depends on the universities a student plans to apply to, the competitiveness of those universities, the student’s academic profile and the role SAT results play in the application.

Students may therefore enter SAT preparation with very different goals. One student may be working towards 1200 or 1300, while another may be aiming for 1400, 1500 or above.

Education House does not treat a target score as a guaranteed result. Instead, the target is used to help determine which weaknesses, topics and question types should receive the greatest attention during preparation.

The SAT total score ranges from 400 to 1600, with 200–800 for Reading & Writing and 200–800 for Math.

The amount of SAT preparation a student needs varies.

There is no fixed number of hours that is suitable for everyone.

A student who already understands the SAT format and only needs targeted revision may require fewer hours than a student who needs to strengthen fundamental Math, grammar, vocabulary or reading skills.

The recommended preparation time should therefore be based on:

Current level + target score + weaknesses + exam date + available study time.

Education House currently offers shorter and longer SAT preparation packages so that students can select a programme according to their situation.

The 12-hour option is generally more suitable for students who are already familiar with the SAT, while the 20-hour option provides additional preparation time for students who are less familiar with the exam.

More preparation may be appropriate when there is a significant difference between the student’s current performance and target score.

Our Digital SAT preparation programme is suitable for:

  • students taking the SAT for the first time
  • students retaking the SAT to work towards a higher score
  • international school students
  • homeschool students
  • students preparing for overseas university applications
  • students who need additional support in SAT Math
  • students who need additional support in SAT Reading & Writing
  • students looking for intensive preparation before an upcoming SAT
  • students who prefer personalized 1-to-1 tuition rather than a large group class

Students can join Education House SAT preparation online through live 1-to-1 classes.

Online SAT tuition is suitable for students throughout Malaysia as well as international students who want a flexible schedule without travelling to a tuition centre.

The course follows the same personalized approach, covering Digital SAT Reading & Writing and Math according to the student’s preparation needs.

Yes. The current SAT is delivered digitally through College Board’s Bluebook application.

It depends on your current level, SAT experience, target score, weaknesses and test date. Students who are already familiar with the SAT may need fewer hours, while students who need academic foundation work or a larger improvement may require more preparation.

Intensive preparation may be possible when the student already has a strong academic foundation and is familiar with much of the SAT content. The amount of progress possible in one month depends on the student’s starting level and available study time.

No responsible SAT programme can guarantee an exact result. SAT performance depends on the student’s starting level, preparation, practice, test-day performance and other factors. The programme can instead be structured around a target score and the areas that need the most improvement.

Yes. Students retaking the SAT can use 1-to-1 preparation to concentrate more heavily on the section and question types that caused difficulty previously.

There is no universal “good” SAT score. An appropriate target depends largely on the universities and programmes the student plans to apply to. Students should research the admissions expectations of their intended universities before setting their target.

Students should ideally allow enough time to identify weaknesses, learn the necessary concepts and practise applying them under SAT-style conditions. Students with a larger gap between their current level and target score will normally benefit from beginning earlier.
